What To Expect
This combo tour allows you to roam through Moscow's markets then cook the ingredients you bought.
Start at 9:50 and go on an hour and a half market tour. Get to know Moscow through its market - there's no better way to learn about it than by knowing the history of the area, the local food and cooking.
Learn how to get to the markets and how to select which market to go to. Learn to evaluate quality and select the best fresh seasonal produce, as well as how to buy and bargain in Moscow. You'll also get to know the history of markets, foods and some cultural and cooking traditions in this tour.
Under the guidance of your fun and friendly Russian hosts, a team of professional chefs who are all passionate about Russian cookery, you will immerse yourself in Russian life to discover the gastronomic delights of Moscow. Many locals also take part on this popular course giving you a truly authentic Russian experience.
The aim of the course is to give you the skills to cook a great Russian 3 course menu to impress your friends back home.
All ingredients used are locally produced but the chefs always ensure they are ones that you can easily buy back home so dishes can be easily recreated.
The school is ideally located just a few minutes' walk from Kurskaya, Trugenevskaya and Christye Prudy metro stops, perfect for combining the cooking course with other tourist attractions during your stay in Moscow.
Courses concentrate on the cuisine of Russia, but also we have Slavic, Caucasian and Central Asian Menus. As locals, your hosts are very knowledgeable about Moscow and the surrounding area, and will be able to teach you all about the origin of ingredients used, the names of the dishes and Russian traditions in general.
Start cooking at around 12:00. Snacks and lunch will be on hand as you are making the food until 15:00.
You will be met by your chef at the start of the lesson and will go through the menu for the course; the menu is very varied and carefully chosen by the chefs to use the best seasonal ingredients.
Cooking classes run for around 3 hours and during that time you'll learn to cook a variety of dishes and courses.

Crunchy potato pancakes "draniki" with sour cream
"Rasstegay" cake with mushroom filling
Borsch, Tschi, Okroshka and variety of Russian soups
Homemade cutlets, pelmeni, vareniki
Herring under "Fur Coat", original Russian Salad
Baked Apples a-la "Kupetc" (with raisin and honey)
Russian Bakery "Pirozhki", "Varenilki", "Vatrushki", "Olad'i"
Pancakes and sour cream pirog (cake) with berries

This tour has a 2 passenger minimum requirement for operation and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met. Please call at least 24 hours prior to departure to confirm schedule.
This class is suitable for all levels from complete beginners to experienced foodies.
Your hosts are Russian but speak perfect English and all classes will be in English (German, French, Spanish also available).
