What To Expect
The tour begins at the luxurious Taj Mahal Palace Hotel where you will be welcomed before we depart for Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station. The train leaves for Ajanta at 16:40. Dinner will be served on board.
After breakfast, we'll head to the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to the 2nd century! We then return to the train as we continue to the beautiful city of Udaipur. Lunch and dinner will be served on board.
Upon arrival, we'll proceed to Lake Pichola for a boat ride followed by a visit to the City Palace and the Crystal Gallery. Lunch will be served at the Satkar Hall of the Fateh Prakash Palace. The interior of this historical palace is dotted with miniature paintings, portraits, armories and royal artifacts that date back to the Mewar dynasty. On our way back to the train, we will visit a center for miniature paintings, which is a famous art form of Udaipur. Alternatively, you have the option to enjoy spa services at a 5 star hotel. Dinner will be served on board the train as we continue to Jodhpur.
After breakfast, you have the option to visit a Bishnoi village. We arrive at Jodhpur at 11:00. Enjoy some lunch before we proceed to the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India. The fort stands at a hundred feet on a perpendicular cliff, four hundred feet above the sky line of Jodhpur. You will then have a walking tour of the Clock Tower Market. Alternatively, you have the option to enjoy spa services at a deluxe hotel, visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum and Jaswant Thada, or go on a private shopping tour. We proceed to the Hanwant Mahal for an exclusive cocktail dinner. You will also have an opportunity to visit a local handicraft store on the way to the restaurant.
Enjoy the spectacular view of the countryside while having breakfast. You may relax on board once we arrive in Bikaner or you may choose other optional activities such as visit the Lalgarh Musuem or the Karni Mata "Rat Temple" in Deshnok. After having lunch on board, we head to the Junagarh Fort followed by Sundowner cocktails and a barbeque at the Sand Dunes. You then return to the comfort of your train at 20:15 as we leave for Jaipur.
After breakfast, we proceed for an Elephant Exhibition Polo Match followed by lunch at the City Palace. We will then visit the historical Amber Fort. Alternatively, you have the option to enjoy other activities such as visiting the Observatory at Jantar Mantar, going on a private shopping tour, play golf at the Rambagh Golf Club, or enjoy a spa at a 5 star hotel. On our way back to the train, you'll have the opportunity to visit a local center that polishes and cuts precious stones. Dinner will be served on board as we depart for Sawai Madhopur in Ranthambore.
Once you arrive in Ranthambore, we proceed to the Ranthambore National Park for an exciting game drive. You then return to the train for brunch as we continue to Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we'll explore the magnificent ancient city. We return to the train for dinner.
A trip to India wouldn't be complete without paying a visit to the Taj Mahal. Enjoy a delightful champagne breakfast at the Taj Khema before we return to the train and depart for Delhi. Lunch will be served on board before you disembark the train.
