What To Expect
Prepare yourself as you go on a tour of one of New Orleans' most haunted mansions! Along with a knowledgeable tour guide, explore the haunted mansion with full knowledge of the events that had happened there. This tour will be initiated with meetups with your tour guide at the designated meeting point.
To start off, walk the streets of the French Quarter with your guide and take the opportunity to snap photos and admire the beautiful architecture around the area. Once you have reached the Lalaurie Mansion your guide will join you inside it. One look at the exterior of this beautiful mansion and you will feel goosebumps rising on your skin.
The three-storey Lalaurie Mansion gives off an eerie vibe due to the horrific past that took place inside it. Your guide will tell you the story of the initial owner of this house, Madame LaLaurie, who was known to keep her slaves chained to their cells inside this mansion. She was also known to torture and murder her slaves as well, resulting in the unrest of tortured souls inside the mansion. This mansion had been burned twice and was rebuilt in the same amount.
Hear stories about the Pharmacy Museum which houses exhibits a mid-19th century apothecary shop, queer medical practices, leeches, and a vast collection of antiquated bottles holding crude drugs, medicinal herbs, and compounded drugs used by the early pharmacists.
Finally, learn about Pere Antoine, an iconic figure in New Orleans whom was popularly known to detest the rise in slave population in the city as well as to free the women of color and their children. His ghost is mostly seen around the Saint Louis Cathedral where he is pastor.
