What To Expect
Go on an adventure to Provence, a region filled with endless lavender fields at the South of France. Participants of this trip will be transferred to the Garde de Lyon (train station) to mark the beginning of the trip. A TGV (high-speed train) ride to the French countryside of Avignon comes next.
A knowledgeable tour guide will meet the tour participants at the train station and will take them to the Avignon city center where the audio guided tour of the Palace of the Pope will commence. The Palace of the Pope had been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1995. This Gothic building is claimed to be one of the largest of its kind throughout Europe. The grandeur of this structure was demonstrated even more with luxurious paintings, frescoes, and sculptures in its rooms.
Free time will be allotted for the participants to enjoy roaming the city and to eat lunch as well. After lunch, participants will be transported to Luberon, a region spanning 30 miles along the east of Avignon. This region is known best for its great view of scenic landscapes, hilltop villages, lush vineyards, and healthy orchards. Participants will be able to enjoy the majestic views offered by the Plateau de Sault, the lavender capital of France. A stop at the Roussillon village can give participants the pleasure of a breathtaking view of the ochre cliffs.
A trip to the Lavender Museum at Coustellet comes next in the itinerary of this trip. This museum houses a theater, exhibition space, and a souvenir shop all dedicated to educate tourists about the qualities, harvesting and distillation processes of the true fine lavender.
