Take a trip down memory lane as you revisit the olden times of France where monarchy was obsolete. This trip to the Fontainebleau castle will be initiated with the pickup of participants from their respective hotels or residences in central Paris.

Located 55.5 kilometers from Paris, the Fontainebleau Castle is situated in a commune within the area of Paris and is known to have been the residence of various French rulers for eight centuries. Famous personalities such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Christina, queen of Sweden, Francis II of France, Philip IV of France and Louis XIII have resided in the grandeur of this palace.

Impressively, this castle contains over 1530 rooms, a 130-hectare park, and four courtyards. A massive theatre built for Napoleon III was also constructed inside this castle for his entertainment.

Among the must-visits inside the castle are the completely-furnished apartments which are open to the public such as the Hunting Lodge, two boudoirs for Marie-Antoinette, the Great Apartments of the Sovereign, the apartments from the Napoleon III era and the apartment of Madame de Maintenon. The apartments of Napoleon, the Guard Room, the Ballroom, and the Council Chamber are also open for tourists.

The knowledgeable guide will share his knowledge about the history of the castle and will tour you around the rooms permitted for public access including the Chapel of the Trinity and the Francis I art gallery which inspired the construction of the Hall of Mirrors at the Versailles Palace.

This tour will end with the hotel drop-offs of all the participants back in Paris.
