The D-Day Tour by the Memorial de Caen is an unforgettable one day trip for visitors staying in Paris, and coming to Caen by train. They benefit from the services of a guide throughout the day.
The day starts with a guided visit of the Memorial de Caen museum, then lunch at the lovely "La Terrasse" restaurant at the Memorial de Caen and an afternoon tour of the WWII D-Day Landing Beaches and key sites.
Purchase a train ticket to Caen at the Paris St. Lazare Train Station. Your guide will meet you at the main hall of Caen Train Station.
After we have a guided tour of the Le Memorial de Caen Museum, we will then follow our guide to the D-Day Landing Beaches in the afternoon, and discover the artificial harbour in Arromanches, the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-mer and the Pointe du Hoc.

Your train tickets from Paris to Caen and back are not included. These can be purchased online from the French railway company SNCF.

Weekdays: Please book the train, which departs at 7.07am from Paris Gare St Lazare. This train arrives in Caen at around 9am. Pick up at Caen station is at 9am. After the tour you will be dropped off at Caen train station at about 7.15pm. Please book the train, which departs from Caen between 8.18pm and 8.28 and arrives in Paris at 10.26pm.
Saturday: Please book the train, which departs at 7.45am from Paris Gare St Lazare. This train arrives in Caen at around 10am. Pick up at Caen station is at 10am. After the tour you will be dropped off at Caen train station at about 6.30pm. Please book the train, which departs from Caen between 7.06pm and 7.11pm and arrives in Paris at 9.18pm.
Sunday: Please book the train, which departs between 9.04am and 9.10 from Paris Gare St Lazare. This train arrives in Caen at around 11am. Pick up at Caen station is at 11am. After the tour you will be dropped off at Caen train station at about 7.15pm. Please book the train, which departs from Caen at 7.54pm and arrives in Paris at 9.50pm.
Train times can change from time to time (bank holidays, winter times etc.). We strongly advise you to contact Le Memorial de Caen reservations team at firstname.lastname@example.org to check which trains to travel on for your tour date.

You should aim to arrive at Caen railway station by 9am on weekdays, 10am on Saturdays and 11am Sundays **.
The train ride to/from Caen is a direct trip, and takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Special time schedules may apply on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
You are advised to take this tour on a weekday.
Return and drop-off at Caen Train Station is scheduled between 18:30-19:15 from April to September or 18:15 to 18:45 from October to March.
