A guided tour around the Versailles Palace will be enjoyed by the participants of this trip. Visitors will be given a chance to visit the Hall of Mirrors. Given its name, this particular room in the palace features mirrors as tall as its walls. These mirrors were designed in the 18th century to illuminate the hallways with minimal candles required; this way, the smoke will not be able to cause damage to the walls and ceilings of the hall.
Another interesting part of the trip is the visit to the separate State Apartments of the King and Queen. The grand apartment of the Queen consisted of 4 large rooms including her bedchamber as well as 3 more rooms where the late Queen Marie-Antoinette would entertain her guests, play music, or tend to her children. The grand apartments of the King however had 7 huge rooms which are open most of the week for both foreigners and French people back then. The King had 12 separate interior apartments for varied purposes.
Roam around the lush Versailles Palace gardens on the allowed free time. These gardens as well as chateau were subjected to expansion once Louis the 14th moved his court to Versailles. Due to the onset of expansions, the garden had covered 800 hectares of land.
