What To Expect
Set the day off the blocks with a ride on a local transport from Lakeside to the city outskirts and hit the gradually inclining trail that meanders through laid-back settlements and verdant farmlands to Naudanda and then to Sarangkot before making a descent to the Lakeside. The hike offers wonderful impressions of Nepal pastoral life and the prospect of great mountain views.
See and feel Pokhara from a different perspective. Head out on a local transport to the outlying hills- Naudanda, literally meaning 9 hills. A soft relief of the gently rolling chain of hills with their rice fields in terraces, subtropical forests, and the silhouette of the Himalayas, with its imposing self merely 30kms away, gives this place an appealing look. A walk through this charming land transports you to a total contrast, far-removed from where you started your day. From one village to another and one hill to another, you reach Sarangkot, a vantage point on top of a hillock north of Fewa Lake, famous for its dawn and dusk views. The descent puts you at the road-head at Sedi and a further walk along the circumference of Fewa Lake leads to the conclusion at Lakeside.

As dress standards are conservative throughout Asia and as this trip visits religious sites, modest clothing is strongly recommended. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, light, and long clothing is both respectful and convenient in the predominantly warm Asian climate. Singlets, tank tops, and topless sun bathing are all unacceptable. When visiting religious sites men often need to wear long trousers and women a long skirt or sarong.
