Along the coast, we will be able to visit Astoria, Columbia River Maritime Museum, Astoria Column, Cannon Beach, Hay Stack Rock. We'll also be able to enjoy spectacular views of the dramatic Oregon Coastline.
The Columbia River bar, where the Columbia River opens to a wide mouth and empties into the Pacific Ocean, is known as the "Graveyard of the Pacific." The Columbia River Maritime Museum is an outstanding facility that provides exhibits covering the region's many shipwrecks and much more. Early European exploration, commercial fishing, the Coast Guard, and lighthouses are among the topics covered at the museum.
Erected in 1926 at an elevation of 600 feet atop Coxcomb Hill, the location of the first permanent American Settlement west of the Rockies. This impressive Oregon Coast historical monument is the only one of its kind in the world!

We continue our excursion to more amazing view points along the coastal range with a stop to explore the old growth forrest right on the beach. Enjoy a great viewpoint from Neahkanie Mt, one of the largest peaks in the Coast range. Look south to Manzanita, Neahkanie and the Nehalem River.
