The most complete tour of Provence. Visit Orange and the Antic theater, take a scenic drive in the vineyards around Chateauneuf Du Pape. Enjoy Wine Tasting and spend the afternoon around Pont Du Gard, Le Baux de Provence and the famous villages of Gordes and Roussillon.

Description

Visit Orange by taking a panoramic tour to discover its Roman Arch of Triumph, symbol of the Roman imperialism glory, and visit its Antic Theatre one of the most well-preserved theatre of the Roman Empire thanks to the stage wall.

Then, continue with a wine tour through the vineyards between Orange and Châteauneuf-du-Pape and stop for panoramic view of the Rhône river valley from the Castle of Châteauneuf-du -Pape.

Join in some wine-tasting in a cellar in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. You will discover the history of this famous house, born in Châteauneuf-du-Pape 100 years ago. In a traditional shop, you will find a wide range of wines and provençal specialities. Then, you have free time for lunch on your own.

Afterwards, continue to the famous site of the Pont du Gard dated from the first century and classified by UNESCO. It's the most amazing and well preserved part of the Roman aqueduct which supplied water to Nîmes.

Stop at the Antiques in Saint Rémy de Provence (Triumphal Arch and mausoleum) located in a field of olive trees. This breath-taking landscape was painted several times by Van Gogh.

See Les Baux de Provence, a village perched upon a rock at 245 meters high, with its historical pedestrian center: the museum of santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets, a beautiful house of the 16th century, the St Vincent Church, and a pretty Romanesque building.

Finally, visit some of the most beautiful villages in France: Roussillon, famous for its unusual red and yellow ochre cliff landscape, and Gordes, a perched village in Luberon, famous for the architecture with dry stones.

The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. A wothwhile tour as the guide drove us to quite a number of places covering most of... the must see places in Provence. Overall, a good trip. more

Alice

We enjoyed the whole tour, a bit tiring but definitely the most complete tour if you want to know about Avignon! Our tour guide, V...enessa, was the the best guide we've ever met. She is so cheerful and would like to share all the knowledge about Avignon, history, culture and more during the entire tour. Besides the scenery, she is another highlight of the tour! more

See a different side of France other than Paris! We had one of the best driver/guide bringing us around and doing his job really w...ell! more

IRENE

Be great if this tour wasn't split in half and went somewhere other than Avignon for lunch. We would have had the time to ha...ve lunch at one of the villages in Provence or even squeezed in another attraction. The morning tour was quite different - laid back in comparison to the afternoon tour (which was packed with activities and much better value) more

Selena

Overall the tour was fantastic. We got to see more of Provence than we ever thought possible. Tour guide was very knowledgeable,... spoke excellent English and was able to handle a very difficult situation (ill customer) in a professional manner. However, perhaps a tour that was covering so much territory should have had everyone meet at a central location. An all-day tour should not have included returning to Avignon to drop off half-day AM customers and pick up half-day PM customers. We feel we lost 1.5 hrs. We were rushed through Roussillon and barely made it to Pont du Gard in day-light. Also in order to eat lunch we had to grab a sandwich and eat in the van. more
