What To Expect
You will be picked up at your hotel in Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt for a full day trip to the enchanting Chiloe Island. You will also discover its marvelous bays and long sandy beaches.
You will be taken to Pargua, from where you will catch a ferry to cross the Chacao Channel, which separates the mainland from the island of Chiloe. During your boat trip you will have the opportunity to observe sea lions, pelicans and seabirds that are typical of this region.
Then, your first stop will be Chacao, a small town where you'll discover typical larch wood buildings and also Chaco church, declared a UNESCO world heritage.
Later on, you will visit Caulín, a beach resort famous for its oysters and its rich marine life.
Continue your tour to Ancud, where you will get to know the Fort of San Antonio, its local Museum, Plaza de Armas and the Municipal Market, which offers a variety of dining options. Here, you'll also discover the foundation of the churches ex convent, where you can find the 16 legacies churches of the island.
You will have free time in Ancud to have lunch and to explire Ancud's market, perfect to take some souvenirs back home.
Finally, you will go to the Lacuy Peninsula, which consist in a large number of small bays with stunning beaches such as Lechagua, Mar Brava and Quetalmahue. You'll enjoy breathtaking views of the island, which is a famous spot for unidentified flying objects sightings, reason why there are many stories around this magical island.
At the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
