What To Expect
On this super saver, combine a city tour of Quito with a day trip to the Otavalo Marketplace and enjoy a free night tour of the city's illuminated historic center.
Explore the city of Quito and see the most important landmarks and commercial areas of the city. Head to the historic center and make a stop at the Basilica del Voto Nacional. Proceed to Plaza de la Independencia and see the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace and the gold-adorned La Compañia Church along the way. The tour will continue towards the Church of San Francisco, built in the 17th century. Afterwards, go to Mirador del Panecillo, where you can admire a beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito.

Climb aboard a trolley, built as a replica of the trams that once roamed Quito in the last century, and see Ecuador's capital city from three different viewpoints. The tour begins at Mirador del Panecillo, a dividing point between the north and south of the city. Afterwards, go on a walking tour starting at the Plaza de San Francisco to the Plaza de la Independencia. Proceed to the second viewpoint, the Itchimbia and Crystal Palace, to admire the Basilica and the historic center. The third viewpoint is at Guápulo, where travelers can observe the development of Quito to the valleys and learn about the history of the famous Ruta de la Canela.

Depart from Quito through the Pan-American North Highway via Cayambe. Stop briefly at Guachalá, an old equatorial monument. Passengers will have the opportunity to taste the delicious Bizcochos de Cayambe, a type of cracker or bread baked in a clay oven, great paired with local cheese or caramel sauce. Afterwards, make a brief stop at "Miralago", to admire a wonderful view of Lago San Pablo and other amazing views. The tour then continues to Otavalo where Otavaleños (natives) set up a market in which a bartering manner of shopping is taken place. The market hosts a variety of different handcrafted items. Passengers may choose between staying longer in Otavalo or go to visit to the leather shops at Cotacachi. Return to Quito picking up passengers in Otavalo* (spot determined by guide), via the Cajas-Tabacundo road.
