While on the road to Cilaos, you will discover the traditional creole houses and charming gardens « à la Française », the Bras du Cilaos valley, as well as the Palmiste Rouge village surrounded by impressive green mountains.
Take the spectacular Road of 400 Turns, and once arrived in the town of Cilaos, a small forest road will lead you to the site of the Roche Merveilleuse, where you will take in a magnificent panorama of the area.
Then, visit the town of Cilaos, which name comes from the Madagascan word "Tsilaosa", meaning “the place you do not leave”, and you will understand why! Dominated by the Piton de Neiges volcano (3,071 metres high), Cilaos is the sunniest of the three cirques.
Enjoy a delicious creole lunch, and discover its popular "Days of Cilaos" embroidery at a local workshop.
Finally, you will stop at the Étang-Salé and see the "Gouffre", a famous rock against which impressive waves hit.
