What To Expect
Follow the road to Grand Anse creek, with its beach bordered with coconut palms, a real heaven of peace. Take the small road running along the sugar cane fields with a magnificent view of the ocean.
Return to the coast at Saint-Joseph and Cap Mechant, located in the middle of vacoa forest. From there, you see the imposing view over this coast of black basaltic rock which contrasts with the intense blue of the sea. After a Creole lunch, visit the Jardin des Epices et des Parfums at Saint-Philippe. Saint-Philippe offers the biggest nature reserve of the island which has grown from the latest lava flows of the Fournaise (vacoas, filaos, colored-wood and cabbage trees). Get to see Pointe de la Table too.
