What To Expect
Go on a great adventure of discovering El Salvador's Volcano Complex!
Head over to the Cerro Verde National Park for a 45-minute eco trail. The Cerro Verde is an inactive volcano located at an altitude of 2035 meters. It has a cloud forest in and around the crater with a temperature of between 12 and 18 degrees centigrade.
Next, admire the Izalco Volcano, known as the Lighthouse of the Pacific for its nearly perfect conical shape. Its perfect cone is totally devoid of vegetation; the slopes have inclinations of up to 45 degrees, making it a serious challenge even for the most expert of mountain climbers.
Admire the Santa Ana Volcano, also known as the "Ilamapatec Volcano". This volcano is considered as the largest in the area. See the wilderness and the dwarf forest that surround this majestic volcano.
Finally, visit the volcanic lake of Coatepeque as you go on an exciting boat ride across its calm waters. Considered as one of the largest lakes in El Salvador, this lake resulted from the collapse of two volcanic cones inside a crater.
