What To Expect
Discover the beautiful city of Santiago like a local together with a witty local guide who will show you around.
Start off the tour in the morning, escaping the crowds on public transit and giving you more time to explore as well. After meeting with your guide, head over to the neighborhood of La Alameda, the city' main avenue. Dubbed by many as the most important central area of the whole country, this neighborhood is filled with old and modern architecture that gives it a unique character. As you explore around this area, see popular attractions such as the Plaza de Armas, Santiago Stock Exchange, San Francisco Church, and many others.
Next, ride the metro and get off at Mercado Central. This cast-iron fish market features seafood lunches in low-key shops. You may also find fresh local fruits, Chilean wines, and vegetables in this national monument. Enjoy some typical Chilean dishes during your visit.
Then, come to the La Vega Central another vibrant market located on the other side of the Mapocho River. You may find various exotic products here from healing concoctions to fresh produce limited to Chile.
Here comes the most exciting part of your tour, the cable car ride! Take a cable car up to the very top of Cerro San Cristobal. This 722-hectare park showcases the best view of the city as well as 14 meter-high statue of the Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepcion, the National Zoo, and the Jardin Botanico Mapulemu.
This tour will end with lunch at Bellavista, a popular bohemian neighborhood in Santiago.
