What To Expect
Immerse yourself with the exciting blend of ancient culture and modern attractions as you experience being a Shanghaier for one day.
After being picked up from your hotel, start your day with a visit to the heart of old Shanghai. See shaded alcoves, glittering pools churning with fish, pines sprouting wistfully from rockeries, and pavilions at the Yu Garden (Yuyuan Garden) and the Bazaar area.
Next, find fresh goods and discover how the locals choose and bargain products at a wet market. Get a chance to know more about the local lifestyle as you visit a Shanghai family, learn how to make the famous Shanghai-style dumpling, talk with the locals about their everyday lives, and enjoy a sumptuous lunch at their home.
We'll then explore Tianzifang, an arts and crafts enclave that has developed from a renovated residential area in Shanghai French Concession. Admire the preserved Chines-style Shikumen architecture of the buildings as you stroll through small crafts stores, coffee shops, trendy art studios and it's narrow, yet artsy alleys.
Then, enjoy a panoramic cruise along the tranquil waters of the Huangpu River and see 100 years of world-renowned architectural style unfold before your eyes as you pass by towering skyscrapers of The Bund, a waterfront boulevard along the western bank of the river.
Our last stop is the Silk Factory, where you will have an opportunity to learn the process of making silk products which has a history of over 4000 years.
