What To Expect
The tour will start in Siem Reap where you can opt to take studio work shop or roam around and visit temples mostly unknown to tourists. Afterwards, we head to the great Tonle Sap lake, the largest lake in South East Asia and one of the most beautiful places for photographs apart from the Angkor temples.
We will be seeing the village of Kampung Phluk with all its colorful houses built on up to 10 meter high stilts. If you have a long lens (200 mm and above) and a little luck, you will be taking pictures of wild animals, birds and snakes.
In the evening, we will be watching and taking photos of the sunset at the lake.
This tour includes a short introduction into camera handling where the basic functions behind a camera's manual settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, metering modes, and white balance) will be explained. In addition, we will also talk about proper composition and framing. We will tell you the very basics of artistic elements you should look out for.
The tour starts with a visit and taking pictures of the Old Market and some temples and pagodas in Siem Reap town. We see the traders offer their products and have a look how the monks live, meeting them for photos.
While driving down to the lake we will stop at interesting places to take pictures and experiment with filters, long exposure and water reflections. At the lake, we will board a boat to see the village of Kampong Phluk - the village on Stilts. We have the chance to see and photograph locals during their typical working day. In addition, we can also visit the flooded forest. In the evening, we will go to the open lake to photograph the sunset.
