Description

Our shuttle will pick you up at your hotel between 09:00-09:30 and drop you off into the heart of St. George's. Experience the lively thrill of a typical Grenadian market morning where locals go to shop and mingle, bargain with the sellers and catch the day's fresh produce as well as the freshest gossip in town. Socialize and exchange smiles with the friendly Grenadian vendors and their colorful kiosks and craft displays.

The city's Market Square is a dynamic and noisy place bursting with energy and color, situated right at the heart of the capital's civic life, right where it has remained for the past 200 years. Not only is this the main site for purchasing local produce and fresh fruit but also the focal point for parades, carnivals, political speeches, religious activities and in the more recent years, the surrounding area to this market has become the starting point for minibuses that go to the outer areas of the island.

Every Saturday morning the Market Square shines, showcasing the best of everything it has to offer as it is invaded by hundreds of locals and curious visitors that flock the place in search of typical items and to enjoy the lively atmosphere. Here you'll find every type of Caribbean fruit and vegetable imaginable, from fresh coconuts and watermelons to breadfruit and plantains. You will also find fine arts & crafts that will make for perfect souvenirs and gifts to take back home for family and friends. You can also browse for the most famous and popular straw goods: hats, baskets of all shapes and sizes and typical rag dolls that anyone visiting the Caribbean simply should not leave without one!

The stalls are brightly colored and offer a refreshing shade from the sun with its picturesque array of colorful umbrellas. The rhythms of reggae and Soca in the background will add a spring to your step as you make a short stop for some fresh coconut juice, cheaper than bottle water and much more thirst-quenching too! Come along to the Saturday Market where you will be leaving with certainly more than a guaranteed wide smile!

The shuttle will recollect you at approximately 12:00 to bring you back to your hotel.
