What To Expect
Climb to the top of Japan's sacred symbol (inscribed as "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration" in the UNESCO World Heritage List) and experience a spectacular sunrise like no other. From Mt. Fuji's peak, 3500 meters above sea level, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view as the world below slowly gets lit up by the sun.
Your journey starts the day before from Shinjuku, with the actual climb commencing from Mt. Fuji's 5th Station (2,300m). Enjoy the hike through the mountain trails up to the 7th station (3,000m) for a rest stop at one of the rustic mountain huts. Before dawn the next day, you will depart to complete the trek to the summit to welcome the sun as it appears on the horizon. Spend some time at the crater before starting the descent where you can opt for a relaxing dip at Lake Yamanaka Onsen, Benifuji-no-Yu before returning to Tokyo.
07:00 - Participants will meet the tour guide at Shinjuki Keio Plaza Hotel and walk to the tour bus.
07:30 - Bus departs for Mount Fuji on the Chuo Expressway and Fuji Subaru line.
11:30 - Tour group arrives at Mount Fuji Lake Kawaguchi 5th station, where participants will have free time for lunch and climb preparation.
13:00 - Tour group heads to the Lake Kawaguchi Yoshida Exit mountain trail at 2,340 meters to begin climb. There will be 45 minutes total rest time during the 160 minute climb.
17:00 - The tour group arrives at the Mountain Hut 'Toyokan' above Mt. Fuji 7th station to sleep. The mountain hut accommodation consists of a mixed men's and women's room with bunkbeds, and less than 1 mat of space per person (about 1m by 2m). Hamburg steaks will be served for dinner and participants can order additional drinks and food at the mountain hut at their own expense.
03:00 - Enjoy the impressive view of the sunrise at the summit at 3776 meters as you eat your breakfast. Participants can go on a guided tour of the crater.
05:00 - 09:00 - Tour group begins the descent to the Mount Fuji Lake Kawaguchi 5th station
11:30 - Arrival at the 5th station to retrieve baggage. Tour group will board the bus to the Yamanaka Onsen.
12:30 - 15:00 - Arrival at Lake Yamanaka Onsen, Benifuji-no-Yu. Enjoy the natural alkaline hot spring, which looks out to Mount Fuji. Participants will be given time to relax and have lunch (own expense)

Children aged 5 and under cannot join this tour. Children aged 6 - 15 must be accompanied by an adult aged 20 or older. Children between the ages of 16 - 19 can join alone with written permission from their parent/guardian 4 days before the tour.
Tour visits Mt. Fuji 5th station (about 2,300m), 7th station with stopover at mountain hut (3,000m), and the summit (3,500m). The temperature at the summit can drop below 5 degrees C.
The air is thin, and there is a possibility of mountain sickness. Please have enough sleep and be healthy for the climb.

The tour plans to reach the summit for sunrise, and to stop at the 7th station to rest on the way. If the sunrise cannot be viewed due to weather, overcrowding, etc. no refunds will be issued.
Tour will be operated in the rain. Tour may be cancelled at any time if guides determine conditions to be unsafe for climbing. Itinerary and route may change due to weather, crowds, and traffic.
English-speaking guide will accompany the tour from Tokyo. Climbing guide (Japanese only) will join from the 5th station and accompany to summit and back.

All participants must fill out a form (name, emergency contact, etc.) on the first day.
Participants wishing to stay at a hut other than Toyokan must arrange and pay for it separately.
Sleeping space at Toyokan is mixed-gender bunk beds. Each participant will have about 1.6 sq. m. Latrines located outside. No bathing facilities.
On the second day, those late for the return bus to Tokyo from the 5th station will be responsible for their own transportation.
*No vegetarian options available. Those with special meal preferences must bring their own food. Dinner on day 1 will be a Hamburg steak meal. Breakfast on day 2 will be two inari-zushi (rice wrapped in sweet tofu pouches). Additional drinks and food available for separate fees.
Climbing insurance not included. Climbing insurance in Japan is not available for foreign nationals. We recommend that customers purchase travel insurance before leaving their countries.
Customers will be responsible for carrying their own belongings. Please bring only the items necessary to climb the mountain when you join this tour.
You cannot leave your belongings inside the bus while you are climbing the mountain. You may leave your belongings behind at the 5th Station rest house for free. The 5th Station rest house will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
According to Yamanashi prefecture ordinance, persons with tattoos are prohibited from bathing in hot springs.
Tour guide will not accompany you after tour disbands on arrival at Shinjuku Station. In this case, your guide will tell you how to go back to your hotel from Shinjuku Station.
