What To Expect
Enjoy a breathtaking view from Mt. Fuji and visit the historical mountain resort area of Hakone. Explore Kyoto's 1,200 years of history with a visit to the Tokugawa era shoguns' residence, Nijo Castle, and the gold-leaf covered Golden Pavilion and its exquisite surrounding garden. Visit Kyoto Imperial Palace and and see its elegant interiors. Walk through Sanjusangendo Temple, Japan's longest wooden structure, and browse the specialty shops on the walk up to Kiyomizudera Temple, where you can enjoy a sweeping view of the city. Admire Heian Jingu Shrine, a partial replica of the Imperial Palace.
Take a deluxe motorcoach to the foot of Mt. Fuji via expressway, and drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters. Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Hakone for the Komagatake Ropeway and go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi (pirate boat). Board a shinkansen to the classical city of Kyoto
Go sightseeing around Kyoto in the morning, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle which is noted for its gorgeous interiors, and Kyoto Imperial Palace*.
Have a Western-style buffet lunch and continue to the Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1001 impressive images of Buddha, vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine and Kiyomizudera Temple with its wooden veranda.

If your hotel is not in the list, you may choose to proceed to the Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal or be picked up at a hotel in the list that is nearest you. Please indicate your choice upon booking.

Children 5 years old and below are free of charge, provided they sit on an adult's lap. If they need a seat, they will be charged (child rates).
When the driveway up to Mt.Fuji's 5th station is closed in winter due to heavy snow, you will go up highest possible point.
Komagatake Ropeway or the cruise on Lake Ashi may be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used: Narukawa Art Museum in Hakone, Itchuku Kubota Art Museum, cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, pirate boat on Lake Ashi, Hakone En Aquarium, Hakone Shrine, Hakone Ropeway (Owakudani Valley), or Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway.
We recommend bringing an overcoat and wearing warm clothing during autumn and winter.
Please note that your arrival time in Kyoto is usually around 21:30 but sometimes will be around 22:00-23:00 due to traffic conditions.
On days when the Nijo Castle is closed you will visit "Ryoanji Temple" instead.
*The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a National Holiday) and whenever there is an Imperial Household event. On these days, tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead.
During the Jidai Festival on October 22, Heian Shrine is closed to the public and will be replaced in the itinerary by Chishaku-in Temple.
During the Gion Festival (July 14 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Nikko Princess Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto is unavailable due to traffic restrictions
The tour will not enter the gardens at Heian Jingu.
