What To Expect
You will be picked up from your hotel in the city of Valencia at around 11:00 and taken to El Huerto de Consuelin beautiful country house, located twenty five minutes away from the city, in Valencia countryside.
El Huerto de Consuelin is an old farmhouse ideally situated between orange trees and rice paddies in one of the most deeply rooted regions in rice growing culture. It is the ideal space for cooking a typical valencian paella while enjoying the scenery.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a refreshing homemade drink and will be shown the place. Then, the chef will make a brief introduction on the preparation process of the ingredients of the Valencian Paella and reveal its secret tips and special techniques that make the difference between just a good paella and a truly wonderful paella. You will also get to know about the traditions, myths, history, people and customs of the Paella.
You will be guided during the whole cooking process by the Chef.
Before delighting yourself with your Paella, you will enjoy some tapas made of local products with a glass of wine, beer or juice.
Then it will be time to eat! You will start with a Valencian salad, followed by the Paella paired with a careful selection of original wines, a typical Valencian dessert and liqueur.
You will have be able to take your time after lunch to relax in the garden.
Before leaving, do not forget your Paella certificate that will make you remember with a smile your day in Huerto de Consuelin.
On your way back to Valencia, you will pass by the Natural Park of Albufera, which is immersed in a vast wealth of rice paddies. You will also see the Saler Dehesa, fed by the Mediterranean sea.
