What To Expect
Escape to a country within a city which is considered to be the Montmartre of Vilnius! Explore around Vilnius' Old Town and be amazed with the art from several free thinkers in the country of Uzupis!
Start the tour with sightseeing around St. Casamir Street. Walk though the antiquated streets of St. Casamir along with your knowledgeable guide. Then, come to the Bastion and the City Wall which were constructed in the 17th century to defend the city from the Swedes and Germans. See some of Vilnius' highlights such as the Park of Ponds, Square of Tibet, Church of Bartholomew, St. Ann's Church, Bekesas Hill and so much more!
Finally, explore around the vibrant country of Uzupis where you may find various artists and free thinkers alike. This unique country was proclaimed as a republic on April Fool's Day by a group of artists and residents. Uzupis even has its own president, a flag for each season, an army of 11 soldiers, their own currency, and a 41-article constitution posted in 8 different languages. This country's constitution has some of the most unique statements such as "A dog has the right to be a dog", "Everyone has the right to celebrate or not celebrate their own birthday", and "Everyone has the right to look after the dog until one of them dies".
See the exterior of the Uzupis Art Incubator. This building houses various local works of art including sculptures, paintings, photographs, and other types of media.
